Many people describe Arizona as unique, hot, dry and brown, very

brown. Commenting they would miss the colors of the Midwest. Well,

I think I’ve established I would not miss the color white; I have seen

enough snow in my lifetime. My one son can send me beautiful snowy

pictures from Alaska and I’m good. As I said, this is for a snowbird

possibility, an escape the winter option, then back to our farm [which

we both love] for the rest of the year.

Arizona’s topography is unique, the landforms creating, flat topped
mesas, huge rock formation that balance on a small surface area
secured mystically.

Rolling hills, craggy rocks that are transformed into

artistic creations by an individual’s mind. And we haven’t even talked

about the vegetation; Cacti galore! I never thought I would find these

prickly plants so intriguing! The gigantic Saguaro branching out almost

as though they have arms and legs to dance upon. The Santa Rita’s

glistening purple pads, appearing so delicate, that the breeze might

blow them into chimes. If this chorography isn’t enough for cacti’s

resume, they sprout their very own flower gardens!

Back to the brown; as we hiked this morning, I looked out and saw

many colors. But Arizona isn’t bold or presumptuous about its beauty.

It’s subtle, almost shy blending into the earth, allowing you to discover

this in your own time. The earth’s floor alone sporting numerous

textures and hues, from tan washed sand ,gray pebbles, with rust and

brown blended throughout. Sitting upon it, rocks and huge boulders

introduce more shades of grays, rusts, brown and possibly a hint of

rose. It looks as though someone laid blonde pony tails across the open

fields amongst the many shades of green contributed by the cacti. If

you look the color palate goes on and on.

We are driving to Sedona now, part of me didn’t want to leave

Scottsdale, but I’m excited to see more of this beautiful state.

Enjoy God’s creation…..Don’t live old!
